[arm-allstar] Notice - Intent to remove remote base rig control

Steve,

I have no first hand knowledge of this so I am wondering how the 271A and
281A are controlled with the RC210. From what I can gather in looking here -

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1277049/Arcom-Rc210.html?page=16

it can only change memory channels that are already programmed into the
radio. Is this correct? It looks like it does it via the mic jack?

I spoke with Dave about this and he thinks that there is an interface that
can be built between the radio and controller which could be the Pii. It
is probably a serial stream with maybe a strobe that is applied at the
microphone and really just simulates what the microphone buttons can
already do.

I am thinking out loud here but it might very well be that hamlib is not
even needed and the Pi GPIO could directly control the radio.

We need to find more info on the commands and data that is sent to the
radio. The MCP-1A programming package does a similar thing.
