Michael,

  Glad to hear you got it going. The Pi3 does NOT support 5ghz only 2.4 so
it would not have worked using that. Yes satellite and cell Internet do
pose special problems at times. As Chris can tell you we do have a
temporary fix for some of those issues. The DNS lookup update should
permanently solve most of them.
