[arm-allstar] Any updates on the IRLP channel front?

I totally agree with Dave about digital RF. It is a technology being pushed
down the throats of hams through slick advertising and also the fact that a
lot of hams will try or buy anything new. Also giving away repeaters (if
you want to call them that) gets the addiction going. Once people invest
big money in things they usually don't want to give it up or admit it was a
mistake.

I for one do not want to see Allstar's great audio tainted by any of the
digital RF. We have a great system and making it better which we are doing
is the way to go. Most hams that I know that have tried digital have either
gotten rid of the radio or use it only on analog.

In any event this discussion was about IRLP which is another good audio
quality system albeit lacking in many other features. All of our current
VOIP connection systems Echolink, IRLP, Allstar when setup properly have
superior audio quality compared to any digital mode. Even the commercial
digital users complain about the audio quality that often gets in the way
of understanding important messages.
