Tom,
As I recall, even if you can get the GR1225 programmed to selectively
enable or disable transmitted PL tone based on input signaling, the
CAT-300 controller has no way to selectively generate an output signal,
based on when it generates a CW ID.
So, as I think you are suggesting, you would have to "loop back" the PL
decode from the GR1225 directly to the PL encode enable on the GR1225. You
may end up with the beginning of words getting chopped off with this
method, particularly if your CAT-300 includes a digital delay board.
Another possible solution might be to use the app_rpt notch filter feature
to notch out the CW ID, leaving a few seconds of dead air...Getting this
setup is tricky and may not work at all...You will need to know the exact
frequency of the CW ID.
