Another update this morning to fix two bugs. Neither caused serious
problems but users should update at their earliest convenience and always
before they install a new image. To update use the ADMIN menu item 1 or say
yes to the update questions when first installing.
RPi2-3 Version 1.5rc3-1 Allstar - February 24, 2017 - KB4FXC, WA3DSP
-> Fixed bug in ft4-sethost script where unusual hostname formatting
would cause the dialog inputbox to fail and set a completely
invalid hostname.
This bug caused hostnames to be scrambled in certain situations. It is
recommended to use a distinctive hostname that identifies your node. I use
call-node (WA3DSP-27225). This shows up at prompts, router labels, ADMIN
menu header, etc. and identifies your node. It is particularly useful when
you have multiple nodes.
-> Fixed bug in rc.allstar script which keeps the hardware watchdog
from launching properly if enabled.
The hardware watchdog is on by default but was not launching due to a
file name issue. Once updated the watchdog will activate on the next
reboot. The watchdog monitors system activity and if it detects a crash it
reboots. It should not be necessary but if a user wants to deactivate the
watchdog it can be done in the /usr/local/etc/allstar.env file.
To view a synopsis of all updates view the /etc/allstar_version file.
