Hi Doug,

I did few tests related with the permanent link on my nodes. For me, the issue is present when the node loses the internet connection (LAN or Wi-Fi); the auto retry stops working. If the node never loses the physical (LAN or WiFi) link with the gateway the asterisk keeps trying until it gets reconnected. Per my understanding the script should keep trying even when the node loses physical link to its gateway, so when it reconnects to the internet link the asterisk can establish the connection to the Allstar network. 

At this point I’m not sure if this was working on the previous version but I can give it a try just to confirm. 

Here is how I recreate the issue:

1. *73#####
2. Node is connected to a HUB and passing traffic
3. I disconnected the Wi-Fi or LAN physical link to simulate a "link failure"
4. Wait few minutes
5. Reconnect the LAN cable or restore the WiFi link
6. The CLI show me “Unable to place call to IAX2 ……….”
7. The asterisk stop trying the reconnection.

Hope this help debugging the issue.
