Mike,
The directory you are writing to is a tmpfs. It is limited to 50
megabytes of space and it also is used for other logging. It should not be
used for archiving especially if you are archiving audio. I would recommend
using a USB stick or NFS to archive and not write anything to the SD card
or Pi ram.
