[arm-allstar] New to Hamlib

Hello all...
New to the Hamlib functionalities available.  I have a Kenwood TM-V7a, and
would like to build a remote base node, perhaps with a new Raspberry Pi
Zero W.  Any "101" advice for a newbie Hamlib/allstar user?

How is the connections implemented? USB to Serial connection used for
Serial Control? Audio/PTT/COR implemented with a USB Fob?

Any 101 advice sure would be appreciated.
