888's as local repeater? That has been done. The 888's have a wide
frequency range. You can use frequency and antenna separation to achieve
full duplex over a limited area. However while full duplex has some
advantages it is certainly not necessary for Allstar operation. The 888
also makes a good local simplex node and that would be easier to accomplish
and have more range than using them full duplex.

I routinely talk to a ham in TX that has an 888 simplex node at a high
location and can talk to it mobile with good results from 20 plus miles
away. You can also put the 888 anywhere in the 420-450 ham band respecting
other modes in your area. I would also stay out of the satellite portion of
the band.

You are welcome to ask questions here software or hardware that apply to
Allstar. We are the hamvoip group and from your question it is not clear if
