Marty,
Echolink, like IRLP can only have one active node per public IP address. So you can setup echolink on your Allstar server fine behind one public IP and port forward to it. Lets say you use yourcall- to do that. then if you want to log onto windows on the same LAN and public IP and use echolink you would need to use a proxy. If you are using a cellphone and local wireless you would also need to use a proxy or use the cell system for Internet on the phone and then you would be OK because it is a different public IP. Echolink only allows three calls - call, call-L, and call-R - you have to activate the extra calls and each can have its own PW or they can all be the same. Only one of those calls can originate on a single public IP at one time.

I do have a question on Echolink Proxy. I was doing some reading on the subject and read some conflicting information.
My question to the group is, Can the same AllstarLink Node that already has Echolink installed also be a Proxy? Or like I read it needs to be on two separate servers? I would guess it needs to be two for the amount of traffic through the same server?
