I've continued to research and beat on this and have made progress! At a
friend's suggestion, I changed the host=dynamic line in the iax.conf file to
host=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx where that is the Public static IP address of my node.
It still gives me a "not dynamic" message but if you skip registration,
Zoiper will actually connect and give me a node connected message and I can
talk over the repeater. Since it is not properly registering, the call
doesn't show up on the allstar status for the node.
The volume on Zoiper on speaker is very low even with the phone volume maxed
- is there an incantation to improve that?

I'm using the coaching on this page to set things up:
http://crompton.com/hamradio/BeagleBoneBlackAllstar/ConnectZoipertoAllstarNo
de.pdf
It is failing to register and doing an Asterisk -rvvv I'm seeing:
NOTICE[]: chan_iax2.c:6862 register_verify: Peer 'myphone' is not dynamic
(from 70.195.202.202)
Zoiper gives me a "registration refused (29) indication
(I don't recognize that address in the notice message. Am attempting to
register to the node's external static IP address registered with Allstar...
Any ideas?
