[arm-allstar] playnews-0.9

Having some trouble with the playnews script.
Wondering if I have script directory wrong. The cronjob sample in the
playews-9.0 readme gives a directory of "/etc/asterisk/playnews". I put the
script files at "/etc/asterisk/local/playnews" and changed the cronjob
accordingly. The actual script file is named "playnews-0.9", should that be
the directory name?
Also, If I leave the TMPDIR as the default /tmp, will this be a problem?
The SD card has 64GB capacity.
