Hi Greg,

All I can say is try out all the possibilities, something might work.

usbradio is worth a try, some of the DSP squelch or VOX capability might 
adequately solve the RX issues.

I've never seen one of these Dingotel adapters and have no idea what 
hardware they've got internally---apparently they are CM108 family, since 
they partly work. I tried goog'ling the other day and didn't find any 
technical info.
