I will just add to Dave's comments that usbradio even on PC's often has audio artifacts or distortion especially on the transmit side, the side you don't hear but everyone else does! I have converted many ACID/PC users over to the BBB or RPi2 simpleusb and their audio improved immensely. The problem does not necessarily have to do with processor speed although there are other issues that can show up on a slower processor. It is more an inherent problem in the code that really needs an overhaul. We intend to do that in the 2.0 release later this year with a completely rewritten channel driver and a much different concept of how it interfaces to hardware. So hang in there, there will be a fix in 1.3 for simpleusb and later an update that should allow running usbradio without an glitches.
