[arm-allstar] minicom and Rpi2

I will just throw in here that USB to serial adapters do work fine on Linux and the RPi2. Both Prolific and FTDI work fine. 

If you type dmesg after inserting it into ta USB port you should see that it assigned /dev/ttyUSB0 to the adapter assuming you only have one adapter installed. After that echoing through the adapter should work.

You are running as the stock 'root' user and have not created another user on your system right? Otherwise you might have permission problems.

Is this the same as local echo? If so I see the characters on the terminal screen as I type.I will try that too. I am beginning to think it is in the modem and dialing parameters set up nut I have not got that far yet. It comes back to me I had to make changes in my CentOs box for IRLP to make a connection. 73DonKU6V
