[arm-allstar] TX Inhibit

Levi,

I believe you might want to set duplex=0 and linktolink=yes for that node. This is in the section for that node in rpt.conf. But unless that node radio itself is full duplex (can TX and RX at the same time) I don't think that will work. If it is a hald duplex transceiver as soon as it hears the repeater it will key its transmitter and block the receiver.

Typically the best way to operate a node with a repeater over RF is to have the repeaters output PL follow the repeater input PL and NOT have the output PL follow the repeater controller. In this way there is no tail or repeater ID or courtesy tone imposed on the Allstar network. The node is operated in normal simplex mode. ID and CT can come from the node. This of course would require the cooperation of the repeater owner if it is not you. Cold connecting to a repeater without the owners permission would not be a good idea. Bringing local repeater ID's over the network is frowned upon.

Subject: [arm-allstar] TX Inhibit

Forgive me if this has been answered, I have searched the help docs and how-tos as well as this list's archives but perhaps I am using the wrong terminology.
I am trying to setup a remote base and I have everything working however, my remote base radio will not transmit if it is receiving a carrier. That is, if I tune my remote base to a local repeater and then connect to my node from the Allstar Web transceiver, I cannot transmit into the repeater until the repeater's carrier drops completely and my remote base radio is not longer detecting a carrier. It is as if there is a TX inhibitor turned on and my remote base node will not allow Allstar to switch to TX on my remote base radio unless there is silence (either though squelch or CTCSS). Is there an option to permit Allstar to switch to TX even if a receive carrier is detected?
