LaRoy,
Simpleusb has seen some small improvements but BOTH simplesusb and
usbradio will be replaced in a future update. Work on it is well along with
the basics already in place. The code-name is IOpipe because that is what
it uses. OSS will go bye bye and ALSA will be used. A combined driver for
both the current simpleusb and usbradio is planned but it is more than
that. It will interface to external drivers (audio and I/O) in a standard
way. This will allow code to be written for virtually any device
independent of Asterisk/Allstar. The beauty of it is the V1.5 base will
allow for the update when it happens without burning another card. For
compatibility I am sure that the current simpleusb/usbradio code will
remain for sometime but if this works as well as we think it will I am sure
users will want to migrate to it.
