[arm-allstar] saypublicip.sh Not Working

Should use of a VPN cause problems with the saypublicip.sh? The digits are
being properly decoded (entered digits *A3 from my HT while peeking at the
CLI) but there's no response. A1, B1, B3, B6 all work properly. Checked to
ensure that I had removed the REM statement in the rpt.conf file. If I run
saypublicip.sh 2347 from the bash prompt, there is no response and it's
necessary to do a Ctrl+c to return to the prompt. A curl ipecho.net/plain
returns my public (VPN-provided) ip. I'm using RPi2-3_V1.02beta_Allstar.img
