That should be 50 20 for connect and 20 21 for disconnect - The news is PM not AM. cron is 24 hour time.

Hi Pete,
Your entry should be cleaned up as it was missing quotes and syntax for the asterisk command. Here are the updated entries:
# To disconnect20 9 * * 1 /usr/sbin/asterisk -rx "rpt fun <your_node_number> *7127225"
# Connecting50 8 * * 1 /usr/sbin/asterisk -rx "rpt fun <your_node_number> *7327225"
So at 8:50 am on Monday, you'll be connecting to node 27225, and disconnecting at 9:20 am. I assume this is correct.
Once you save the entry (when using crontab -e), it will save the entry in /var/spool/cron. The cron daemon (crond) will pick up this entry.

Tinkering with scripting here.I want to connect to the ARRL News Monday night&want the scripts to do this while I'm away.Here is what I have

Entered crontab -e I see both files there.Do these files need to be put in nsomeplace else to be executable?Or are they executable now?
