Stan,

Just a note since you mentioned PL encode/decode in Allstar. To do that you need to be running usbradio. I do not recommend usbradio on the BBB or RPi2 or in general if you can avoid it. There is a nasty distortion that often or should I say usually shows up mostly on the transmit side - outbound - you don't hear it but othere do. It is the kind of distortion that is annoying but not so bad that it would often be mentioned BUT in my opinion it is "audio unbecoming of Allstar" !! I just want you to be aware of that. Many ignore it but I can pick it out in a few seconds of someones transmission.

So if you absolutely need PL outside of the radio try to use a PL encoder/decoder board that drive the COS line and use simpleusb. This is an interesting one -

and of course there is always the TS64 from com spec that is pricey but works well.

Doug, thanks for all your and the others who have been Working on allstar. As a newby it has been a learning curve. Two item I am still working on are the tail messages and tone encode decode. Both have minimal examples on the web. Also from everything I have found it is CTCSS only no DPL
There is also reference to a table but in looking in my software load I have not found it.
This is a learning project. I help maintain dsp404's and RLC club repeaters.

Stan,

Yes that does in fact work but the problem is for how long. Google put the stops on repetitive lookups and once they see the load go up with this method it is likely they will put the stops on it also. The bottom line is I don't think we can depend on it to keep working. That being said we can go ahead with our plans to implement other methods BUT also put this lookup method in as an option with the understanding it might go away.

I am attaching the link to the web page for the people who are smarter than I am to determine if I am misinterpriting what they are saying about the solution or not.
