I'll answer my own question, maybe it will help someone else out.
The RPi image has app_rpt 0.325, and the BBB image has app_rpt 0.324.
The RPi image has rxaudiodelay, preemphasis, and something called duplex3,
all of which are not on the BBB image.
By the way, mounting the ext4 partitions of the image was not trivial on a
mac, but easily done on a standard linux install.
