Neil,
Yes, I wrote a script for newsline that works well. I use it every week. I am sure it could be adapted to arrl news with a few mods. When I get back to my QTH I will send a copy. I am not generally supporting it though. It is written in bash script so some knowledge of that is necessary to understand it. I will try to document it a bit but no guarantees on its usefulness in for your particular application. It runs from a cron job for start time and gives pre-warn messages and then breaks the 30-40 minute broadcast into about 2.5 minute segments with breaks which is necessary for repeaters and node timeout avoidance.

Subject: [arm-allstar] scripts to receive amateur newsline and arrl news reports
Does anybody have BBB scripts to receive and playback on command the
amateur radio newsline and the arrl w1aw bulletins? it would be neat if they
auto load like the weather reports and could be brought up by dtmf
commands
