Hello Neil,

I had something similar some time ago with the URIx green light "going 
solid". I tried using the re-set button on the BBB and got much the same 
results as you are; I found a cure by typing [shutdown -h] at the cmd 
prompt, removing the power completely and disconnecting all cables, 
having a coffee then starting everything up again. Prior to this 
happening I was testing between using simpleUSB and USBradio. Not a 
technical solution but one that worked for me. You could try enabling 
logging to a high level and check the output when/if it happens again..
