Sam,

Did you set the levels using simpleusb-tune-menu ?? If item 2 (rx) looks good on voice from your radio - peaks to 5khz or so then go into the Asterisk client - asterisk -rvvv - at the Linux prompt. Enter DTMF keys consecutively and see what comes up on the screen.

If the response you see in the client is flakey you also may need to set the deemphasis setting to yes without the preceeding semicolon. You must restart when you make changes. astres.sh - also recheck levels if you set deemphasis.

The duplex setting in simpleusb.conf should always be set to 1 - duplex in rpt.conf either 1 for simplex or 2 for a repeater.

Subject: [arm-allstar] New HAM need help with DTMF

I'm trying to set up my Rasberry Pi 2 and my Kenwood V71-A radio.
I used the image 1.0 from this site.

Issue: When I punch in *342181 on my HT, nothing happens and I don't see any echo or response from the asterisk cli.
So I am unable to connect to nodes from my HT.

Setup
Rasberry Pi 2
Kenwood V71-A
DMK Engineering URI USB
Cable was made by Marshall at URI Cables.com

Config settings from the wizard. ( i left out the entries I was sure of) Some settings where selected based on this link.
