[arm-allstar] OK to upgrade BBB Archlinux packages?

I agree with Chris. Don't do an update. We do the latest kernel updates at each image update and there should be one soon. Then everything is tested as a package. At the very least if you do intentionally update you will have to recompile dahdi and no saying what other issues might crop up. Obviously if you want to get back to where you were save anything, scripts etc. you have created and do the files (mot image) backup Chris mentioned then reimage the SD card with the original image and then bring you files back in. If you haven't created much more than the original install then it would be easier to just reinstall with a new image.

Yes, you can potentially cause issues. Unless there is a reason to do so, I would not update. If you have to update, it's best to make a complete image backup prior to updating the system.
You can use the image-backup.sh script and write to a usb drive or you can shutdown, and create a backup image of the microSD card using the PC ("dd" for linux, or Win32 Image Tool).

Is it OK to upgrade the BBB Allstar image packages (pacman -Syu) or does that break things? If one happened to do an upgrade, is there a way to fix the damage to BBB Allstar?
