Hugo,

 There is an error in the iax.conf file that needs to be corrected which prevents the web transceiver and phone in from working correctly. The correction will be in the next version. Open the file and go down to the end make the following changes:

[allstar-sys]
type=user
context=allstar-sys
auth=rsa
inkeys=allstar
disallow=all
;allow=ilbc <<<< remove this line or put a ; at the beginning as shown
allow=ulaw

[allstar-public]
type=user
context=allstar-public
auth=md5
secret=allstar
disallow=all
;allow=ilbc <<<<<<< same here as above
allow=ulaw
allow=gsm

#includeifexists custom/iax.conf
You can use nano to edit the file. It is a simple editor that you should be able to understand.

nano /etc/asterisk/iax.conf

Once it is edited restart asterisk -

astres.sh

Then try again. Let me know how you make out. If you are still having problems we can talk on the phone.

Doug,
First I want to thank you for the work you do here. I'm new to the BBB and Linux.So far it looks like I have some of this working, only when I go to the AllStar web site and connect the Web Transciever canI recieve audio to the node radio Yaesu 857 and out to the HT but can't transmit. Maybe I wrong but I'm hoping to set up a new here at myhouse to the local Hams connect and disconnect to like the WinSystem node 2560.I don't know where to go from here. If you would like to call me I would appreciate it. 305-510-0751.

Hugo,

You always login as username- root and the first time also password- root

You then run the firsttime setup. It should ask you. Then you have the option of changing the password, system name, and IP parameters you also specify you want to configure your node. Once that is done it reboots and yes it will close the putty session. You need to log back in at the new IP address if you changed it with username- root and the new password you set before it rebooted.

I have no idea when you got the permission denied. On the BBB you are always root and have full permissions. Did you somehow create another user?
