That is a good script BUT it turns down the levels of all Allison files. If that is what you intended then fine but if you just want to turn down an ID or pre-prepared text then doing it on just that segment is probably a better idea. There is no corresponding way to turn it back up so you would have to copy files back from the orig directory where they were backed up. So be aware this does alter all Allison files.

There is a volume script documented in the tts and/or scripts howto at hamvoip.org that will do this on an individual file.
[root at alarmpi utils]# change_vol.sh

Change volume of a sound file -

    change_vol.sh <infile> <outfile> <vol>

    To lower vol <1 (ex. .1-.99) - To raise vol >1 (ex. 1.1 -1.9)

   change_vol.sh inputfile.wav outputfile.wav .35

I know I’ve seen it but now looking for it I can’t find the
