John,

  Yes, that is all right.   If you go into the client -

asterisk -rvvv      and you give the echolink command is it there?

CLI> echolink ?
dbdump  dbget   debug

Then type -

CLI> echolink dbget call WA3DSP-L
147090|WA3DSP-L|73.30.112.57

My call should be in the database. You do have to type it in uppercase as shown.

Well, I thought I knew how to do this... but apparently not. 
Steps for making Echolink work on the Pi:

(1) Configure the echolink file with the appropriate information for your node(2) Rename the file echolink.conf(3) Reload / reboot to make the file active(4) Wait until Echolink picks up the node info
What am I missing?
