I'm a little late getting this to you.  Maybe you've solved your problem by
now.

 

I found that there are two mic gains in simpleusb-tune-menu.  One for
channel A on the FOB and one for B.  Tip and Ring on the mic connector.

 

Try adjusting option 4 (or which ever one you didn't use before).

 

Maybe that'll work.  Did for me when I was trying to set things.
