Please not USB. The TI chip (http://www.ti.com/product/tlv320aic3104) from the BBB Audio cape (http://elinux.org/CircuitCo:Audio_Cape_RevB) might be a better choice than another CM108 device. 

It would be an interesting exercise to see if the audio cape could work with ArchLinux and app_rpt. If so build a new board with the TI chip and power supply. A DTMF decoder on the cape would be handy for muting and power cycle functions. A real time clock might be useful too. Call it the BRIC - BBB Radio Interface Cape.
