[arm-allstar] interfacing BBB CI-V serial connections

Hello, group!
>From what I understand, the most popular way of interfacing app_rpt and an
xcat is by way of CI-V. This is done normally with a motherboard's serial
port going to an existing serial connection on the xcat itself.
Is there support in the current BBB image for, say, a USB-serial converter?
Is there any way to make a serial "CI-V"  connection from the BBB to the
xcat?
