Hi Ron,
I've run some tests here trying to duplicate your issues. I am using a
powered Berklin hub.
I tested both DHCP and static addressing. I have killed the wifi access
point and then restarted, and all times wifi connection recovers.
I also, removed the N10 and waited, 30 secs and then re-connnected the usb
device. The system saw the device and the led indicator was lit, however,
IP addresses where not assigned meaning that the network device as UP, but
no IP/Netmask defined. I had to manually restart the network which will
trigger a dhcp query:
netctl restart <profile>
I did the same test with static addressing (remove/re-installed usb
device), it saw the device, but device showed down and I had to restart the
profile.
In both cases, I would expect this behavior.
I also changed the dhcp lease times to every hour, and had not issues.
I assume that you don't have a keyboard/display on that system so I can
query the system for information during this state.
