[arm-allstar] Audio Stuttering Help

John,
I’m not familiar with the Mac or with CrossOver, but from what
I read is that CrossOver will let you run some Windows programs
on the Mac – is this correct?
While CrossOver may not be a Virtual Machine, it might be the
cause of the audio stuttering problems you are seeing. I had similar
problems when I was running an AllStar Node on a Virtual Linux machine.
While everything worked, I had audio problems when using IAX
with it.
I was able to alleviate some of it by tuning the performance
of the virtual machine, but I never really eliminate it.
Is there any performance tuning you can do with CrossOver?
Especially with how the audio card is used.

Hello Doug. Looks like we're talking about the same program. http://www.xelatec.com/xipar/iaxrpt It's Steve Henke's iaxRpt Windows client. I'm using it under CrossOver on a MacBook Pro.
Completely stock image. V1.04 of May 22. Node configuration as per your basic documentation, nothing more. SimpleUSB not configured yet. No radio connected. I'm showing to be registered with node 2186 (Allstar) and Echolink 152242 - WB5NFC-L. At this point, I'm only connecting with iaxRpt to the node, issuing a *81 or hearing the CW ID upon first forced transmit via iaxRpt. Both are severely distorted. No errors noted from the CLI with asterisk -rvvv. No additional nodes operational at this time. I have not tried increasing the Asterisk loading delay yet - but I will.
My 'fun' meter is pegged out for tonight (work tomorrow) and I have an obligation tomorrow night, so it may be a day or two before I revisit troubleshooting. Thanks for the suggestions and help pointing me in the right direction.

John,
I presume you are referring to iaxRpt when you say PPT Dispatcher? Is this a stock image? Did you make any changes? Give us more info on how much you configured the system. Did you enter your assigned node? What are you connecting to on the BBB?
In some rare cases you may need to increase the delay time before Asterisk is loaded. This is done in /etc/rc.local You will see a sleep 30 in there. Change it to 45 or 60 and see if that helps. Before you do that bring the system up and after a minute or so do a asterisk restart - astres.sh - and see if it still does it. If it doesn't then increase the delay.
Also in asterisk client - asterisk -rvvv - are you getting any errors? Do you have a radio connected?
If you have another working Allstar node perhaps we could connect and discuss this.

Initial setup of my BBB went very smoothly. I'm listing to my node using Xelatec PPT Dispatcher. Time, day and CW IDs suffer from bad digital stuttering. How do I best begin to troubleshoot this problem?
Thanks for any suggestions.
