[arm-allstar] A Bunch of Errors & Warnings

Greg,

Nothing wrong with using a larger card but if you are using win32diskimager it will backup the entire card and take a very long time. If you are using something like Linux dd then you can specify the size. 3900 Mb or 3.9G is the size that you would use in that case.

Amazon has 16G Sandisk Ultra 30MB/s cards for $11.80 and there is also a new 45mb/s for a dollar more.

Doug, It's a 32GB SanDisk Ultra card. I need to find a smaller one.
I just got it from Costco to experiment with I thought I could use
later with my camera. It seems that they are getting larger
everyday. :) The power supply is the one that came with the BBB.

I'll try another image and set it up again. I'll make a copy of the
    files this time.

Once everything is setup, can one make a smaller image as backup
    even though it's 32GB?

    tnx, 73 Greg

      Greg,

Personally I have never seen a corrupted card so it does not
happen often but it certainly could happen. What type card are
          you using?

I always tell people to buy at least two cards. If you have a
second one burn it and see if it comes up OK and you can ssh
in. If you only have one then you will have to re-burn the one
          you have.

Make sure the power is good to the BBB. That could cause crazy
things to happen also. I have never seen a bad BBB but that
          could happen also.

If the SD card were not booting it could also be booting the
internal image. If that were happening you would not see the
address you assigned come up in your router or if you are
using dhcp the device name you assigned.
