It isn't to "broadcast" via your repeater... It doesn't even "bend" the rules... <br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_30262"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_30263">Let me explain a little bit...<br></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_28786"><br></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_28787">It is to stream the audio FROM your repeater (or any live audio source, like a scanner) to the internet - where that part 97 "broadcast rule" doesn't mean anything.</div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_28945"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_28946">It makes it so that I can monitor my repeater(s) from any web browser on the planet on my smart phone, tablet, or PC... 24/7/365... And believe me, on the ham repeater feeds, there is a LOT of "dead air time"...<br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_29471"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_29505"><a href="http://www.n5mbm.net/listeningpost.html" class="" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_29504">http://www.n5mbm.net/listeningpost.html</a><br></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_29511"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_28948">Checkout the above link - it may explain a bit. I have a rack full of of scanners listening to ham radio, EMS, Fire, Police, Sheriff and aircraft frequencies - and they all send live streams to the Internet for my county and every county around us. I have multiple feeds running 24/7/365.</div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_28990"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_29039">The local VFD's have come to DEPEND on my feeds. The local EMS personnel have come to rely on my feeds. Even the local news crews listen to my police feeds - which sort of gave me a chuckle... The local pilots monitor the local airport via my feeds. All from their smart phones, anywhere in the state, or world for that matter... I've been doing this for years. I accidentally became something a heck of a lot of people around where we live, RELY on... My local VFD depends on it!<br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_30321"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_30427">I had to laugh when local news media used captured audio from my archives for a news story on the local news one night... I was like Whoa! I told my wife - "That's from my scanner rack!"<br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_29711"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_29754">I even used it to listen to my repeater on "net night" from a Carnival cruise ship in the middle of the Caribbean on my smartphone a few years ago... I have used it at work or in hotels to listen to things going on "back home"...<br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_29105"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_29243">And NONE of it gets broadcast OUT of my ham radio repeater to break the FCC's part 97 rules against "Broadcasting".</div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_29248"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_29333">Broadcastify.com has become a very useful and trusted tool in our little county, and those that surround us. I have found it to be downright handy... The local VFD's really appreciate those feeds... The local EMS really LOVE having those feeds available - who knows, I may have saved a life or two over the years I have been doing it...<br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_29660"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1516420755136_29661">And no, it doesn't break the FCC rules... But it HAS allowed a lot of newbie hams, prospective hams and scanner listeners to listen to things they ordinarily wouldn't have access to.
