Hey, that looks pretty good! I believe a solution is on the horizon!

Yes, agreed, the original forecasts which were retrieved are history,
unfortunately.
...It might be worth asking a local NWS office where they pull their text
for TTS from?? That text might be available via the web, from some well
hidden away source, somewhere!

<pre wrap="">Well - I would say that the "Zone Forecast" that the W0ANM scripts are
designed for has been discontinued.
The Area Forecast Discussion is a different thing altogether - a bit
too verbose.
But, as you say, the city (or lat/lon) forecast is available in a text
mode
If I modify the getWxFor to do something like:
wget
<a class="moz-txt-link-rfc2396E" href="http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=38.8121&lon=-77.6375&unit=0&lg=english&FcstType=text&TextType=1">"http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=38.8121&lon=-77.6375&uni
t=0&lg =english&FcstType=text&TextType=1"</a> -O mywx
one does get something similar - looks like you have to throw away the
first
38 lines and the last line, then filter out the <b> and <br> Prefix
with a header that says the location and then carry on as before.
something to try ...

Hi Ken,
I think the text forecast info is still available, but NOAA has
shuffled everything around and changed the formatting, etc. Some
discovery work will be required to figure a new strategy out. Here
is one example of the new forecast summary text:
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=34.2124&lon=-77.9113&un">http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=34.2124&lon=-77.9113&un</a>

Ultimately, I expect we'll have an updated solution. The V1.5
release in testing now includes several new hamvoip specific
packages, including the

I'll also mention that I expect V1.5 will get released before the WX

BTW, if someone would like to poke around the NOAA website and
develop a solution, you're certainly welcome to proceed! Help in
this area would be appreciated!
