That would be your best bet - log in to the existing modem/router.
If you get a second modem, they'll likely charge for a second
service, even if you purchase the modem, as it will take another IP
address.<br>

Keep in mind that this could all change very soon if the
Charter/Time Warner merger is approved. Charter builds the cost of
their modem into the monthly fee, so they claim that the modem is
"free." You are allowed to purchase your own, but you'll receive no
price reduction. I was going to purchase my own modem to avoid the
TWC modem fee, but put that on hold because if my hunch is correct,
Charter will pull some stunt and nix a list of modems that "had"
been approved.<br>

Not looking forward to the merger. They rarely have favorable
results for subscribers. Been through a few and each time things got
worse.<br>
