<div class="moz-cite-prefix">With all the new excitement about the
RPi3 I would like to say this.... <br>

I do hope the release of the new RPi3 will not interfere or
sidetrack the LONG awaited release for the RPi2. <br>
Many of us have been waiting for a long time to improve our RPi2
systems.<br>
<br>
Shelving the RPi3 development until that is completed would be
greatly appreciated by me and I'm sure others who have been
waiting patiently.<br>

our code running on the Pi3 and both Pi2 and Pi3 support will
be included in the upcoming 1.3 update. We also hope to
support the built-in wifi on the Pi3. The current RPi2 V1.0
code will NOT support the Pi3.<br>
<br>
Initial tests on the Pi3 show a substantial speed improvement
that will certainly help with the DSP functions. We expect to
have a completely new channel driver soon after the 1.3
release which will be a drastic step from the current way
Allstar is interfaced to radios.<br>
<br>
For those buying Pi3's they do draw more current and they get
hotter. If you can, get one with pre-installed heatsinks or
buy add-on heatsinks. The recommendation is to use a 5V 2.5
Amp power supply. A 2 amp supply, which many of the wall warts
are should work fine as long a you don't have a large draw
from USB peripherals. The USB sound FOBS and USB to serial
interfaces draw minimal current. Remember these boards have
built-in wifi and bluetooth which are additional loads.<br
