<div>The following thoughts are mine K8IT. if you want to respond directly
please respond to <a href="mailto:k8it@cac.net">k8it@cac.net</a>
This however is an important issue that is changing Amateur Radio in our
future.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>When I first got into this hobby some 41 plus years ago, you could talk to
anyone using SSB or CW! it did not matter if you where using a Hamerland or
Drake or Johnson, or Globe or Swan or Kenwood equipment or even home brew stuff.
So now years later we have advanced to the latest technology of digital
linking.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>We have so many networks in amateur radio now. Too many! I have friends all
over the world and yes most of them have chosen a radio network which is
compatible with a system in their regional area. this raises a question. why are
all these systems not compatible with each other? Some might say technical
reasons ie:audio quality etc... While this is true to a point I believe that
many companies are breaking part 97 rules and regulations by making large
profits on selling their own network and radio systems.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>my personal goal is to link or bridge as many networks together as I can. I
currently plan to link allstar, echolink, dstar, and wires-x ( with digital to
fm and vice versa) and maybe in the future mototurbo, kenwood's edge, and
the future alinco network TBD. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>I want to do this to break down the barriers between systems and get back
to part 97 regulations.</div>
<div>Amateur Radio is not for profit and should be a development ground to
advance radio technology. today's radio technology uses the internet and
computers!</div>
<div>so let's jointly break down the barriers and link all of amateur
radio!</div>
