I'm not a huge fan of echolink either. Seems no one sets their
audio level correctly.
But, it does provide an additional way for some users to connect.

I'll re-post on the other list and see if anyone has seen this
issue.

I got a message from a user that he wants to meet on the air at
lunch, maybe he has some information on this issue.
Thanks.
Echolink is an add-on to Allstar. Some wouldn't touch it with
a 10 foot pole and others swear by it. I have Echolink on my
hub node and it works well and gives those that are on the
road an opportunity to check-in. It works quite well on a
smart phone. That being said it is what it is and we did not
write the code. What is on the ARM processors is the same as
what is in Acid. I am sure some improvements could be made but
at this point it is not a priority.
Subject: [arm-allstar] Echolink reconnect problems

I have noticed several times that after a loss of the internet
connection or sometimes a power outage,
the allstar controller will not show up as an active echolink
node.

I can restart asterisk and it will show up in a couple of
minutes.

This allstar node always reconnects to another allstar node
after loosing connection.

The network ip is always the same. It gets a reserved ip from
my router and my router has a static ip.

The controller is a Beagleboard Black, node 41741. The
echolink id is K5TW-R.

If I do a show channels when echolink is not working, this is
what I get.

k5tw-rpt1*CLI> show channels
I am not sure if this command would show the echolink
connection it it was working as I have not restarted asterisk
yet.
I would like to try and figure out what is going on with this
before I restart asterisk.

The message log fie show this one entry for echolink.

[root@k5tw-rpt1 asterisk]# cat messages | grep echolink
[Dec 31 18:00:41] ERROR[346] chan_echolink.c: Unable to
resolve echolink APRS server IP address

If the echolink server is not available to register with, does
chan_echholink.c try to reconnect later or does it just error
out and die?

Sorry for the long post.
