This is a heads up that Google has changed their terms of service and the TTS script in both the BBB and RPi2 no longer works! This will effect rendering of ID's, Weather text and alerts, etc. Any text already created like ID's or other preformated text will continue to play but any new tts creation or dynamic tts for weather will not play. ID's or preformatted text messages can be created using the AT&T website as described in the tts howto on the web page at least until it also goes down. Another alternative for now for voice ID's is stringing together Alison phrases - also described in the howto. There are also numerous web sites that allow you to enter text and create audio files but the file would probably have to be reformatted using sox to play in Asterisk.

We are working on a possible fix or alternative but good quality free tts is hard to come by. It looks like AT&T will also be dropping their demo page this month.

73 Doug
WA3DSP
http://www.crompton.com/hamradio
