in Linux/Unix crontab events are outside any processes you write the
scripts for. Cron is a "process" that wakes up every few clock
counts, to see if any events needs executed.. executing events is
based on second clock count resolution.. nothing changes just
because scripts are executed that involve asterisk. <br>
<br>
Look at the many tutorial on crontab on the net.. they all should
apply. A full tutorial on cron can take multiple paragraphs.. I
resort to the work already done by others. here is one I have
referenced before that appears complete.. <br>
<br>
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.unixgeeks.org/security/newbie/unix/cron-1.html">http://www.unixgeeks.org/security/newbie/unix/cron-1.html</a><br>
<br>
If you want some info on processes, do a google search on something
like, "Linux from init to run", you will see many 15 minute
articles that are enlightening.. <br>
<br>
reboot, unless you are experiencing an error that has the whole
system hosed, why would you ever reboot.. you kill/restart
processes, to fix issues, not the "init process" that is a "reboot",
it only needs to be started one time.. some servers have up times
measured in years.. Asterisk is just another "process".. <br>
<br>
You can set your default editor in your profile. Google "linux
profile" you can set thousands of things there.. <br>
