reflector setup with the capability to bridge to D-Star, but as
far has having an end-user link the two together, it would be
banned in a heartbeat. And for good reason.<br>

Having the bridge as a part of the reflector ensures that both
parties have to opt-in, and that nobody is having to accept a
D-Star link they don't want.<br>
<br>
I wouldn't want that terrible audio coming across my machine
either. There is no point in it. <br>

packaged D-STAR repeaters are terrible
and have a 1uV receive sensitivity.
Only by adding a preamp can one
improve. But they also have poor
adjacent channel selectivity. Adding a
preamp only adds to a problem. With

his microphone up to his D-STAR rig
and went back and forth linking it

to point out that the specifications
for both are available and in the case
of D-STAR there are functional options
that can be used with any radio to
create both a repeater and an end user
radio, plus there are other radios in
development that will support it. I
will also point out that some folks
take the "experimentation" part of ham
radio seriously and that we accept
that not everyone will want to use our
systems because of that.<br>

numerous ways but I was
wondering why you would
want to mess up our
wonderful Allstar audio
with crappy Dstar audio?
Personally I don't want
to hear any of the
current amateur digital
audio on Allstar. A
circuit is only as good
as its worst audio! That
being said you can do
anything you want but if
I hear that kind of
audio on any circuit I
maintain I would
disconnect it unless it
is an emergency.<br
