It has a four core 1 Ghz processor so it is much more powerful then its predecessors or even the BBB.<br><br>At this point for new buys I would recommend the RPi2. It is more powerful and also cheaper! The BBB's have remained at about $50 average while the RPi2's are $35. At least they are suppose to sell for that. Some suppliers are charging more at the moment because of the demand. I doubt you have a Microcenter store near you but if you do they are selling the RPi2 for $34.99 in store only. A full list of possible purchase sites is on the hamvoip.org site.<br><br>The RPi2 looks very good. We are going to Beta testing in a few days and I hope to have the RPi2 image out by Easter. The new RPi2 and update BBB images will have many new features.<br id="FontBreak"></font><br><b><font style="font-size:16pt;" size="4">73 Doug</font><font style="font-size:16pt;" size="4"><br></font><font style="font-size:16pt;" size="4">WA3DSP</font><font style="font-size:16pt;" size="4"><br></font><font style="font-size:16pt;" size="4">http://www.crompton.com/hamradio</font></b><font style="font-size:16pt;" size="4"><br></font><br><br><div><hr id="stopSpelling">Date: Fri, 27 Mar 2015 11:44:13 +0000<br>From: kk7xx@yahoo.com<br>To: arm-allstar@hamvoip.org<br>Subject: Re: [arm-allstar] RPi2 Update<br><br><div style="color:#000;background-color:#fff;font-family:HelveticaNeue, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, Lucida Grande, sans-serif;font-size:16px;"><div id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_21802" dir="ltr" style="">Hello Doug, </div><div id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_21802" dir="ltr" style=""><br style=""></div><div id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_21802" dir="ltr" style=""><span id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_21946" style="">Thanks for the update as I have been wanting to get a node up and running on either the BBB or the RPi platform.</span></div><div id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_21802" dir="ltr" style=""><br style=""></div><div id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_21802" dir="ltr" style="">In the past I was under the impression that the BBB was the better platform to run Allstar on, but from your latest post below, it sounds like the new RPi2 in the more capable board, probably a faster and more capable processor?</div><div id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_21802" dir="ltr" style=""><br style=""></div><div id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_21802" dir="ltr" style="">I was going to pick up the BBB this weekend, should I be looking at the RPi2 instead?</div><div id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_21802" dir="ltr" style=""><br style=""></div><div id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_21802" dir="ltr" style="">Thanks for any insight you can offer.</div><div id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_21802" dir="ltr" style=""><br style=""></div><div id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_21802" dir="ltr" style="">Best regards, </div><div id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_21802" dir="ltr" style=""><br style=""></div><div id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_21802" dir="ltr" style="">Luke - KK7XX</div><br> <div style="font-family:HelveticaNeue, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, Lucida Grande, sans-serif;font-size:16px;" id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_23644"> <div style="font-family:HelveticaNeue, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, Lucida Grande, sans-serif;font-size:16px;" id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_23643"> <div dir="ltr" id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_23642"> <hr size="1"> <font id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_23645" size="2" face="Arial"> <b><span style="font-weight:bold;">From:</span></b> Doug Crompton <doug@crompton.com><br> <b><span style="font-weight:bold;">To:</span></b> "arm-allstar@hamvoip.org" <arm-allstar@hamvoip.org> <br> <b><span style="font-weight:bold;">Sent:</span></b> Tuesday, March 24, 2015 10:30 PM<br> <b><span style="font-weight:bold;">Subject:</span></b> [arm-allstar] RPi2 Update<br> </font> </div> <div class="ecxy_msg_container" id="ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1427351763336_23648"><br><div id="ecxyiv6114126516">
