Well the courtesy beeps (telemetry definitions) in rpt.conf are meant to go out over RF connections not to connected nodes. Echolink is tied into your RF radio node just like any other distant Allstar node. It is not connected to a radio. Other connected nodes don't hear your telemetry. The example I gave shows how to turn on echolink connect messages like you would have when allstar nodes connect to you. Most people leave connect messages turned off because when a lot of nodes are connected it an be very annoying. The stock BBB code has it set to the mode where it does announce your connect messages but mutes all others shortly thereafter.

73 Doug
WA3DSP
http://www.crompton.com/hamradio

> From: lmccann@dtisp.com
> To: arm-allstar@hamvoip.org
> Date: Mon, 23 Mar 2015 18:47:20 -0500
> Subject: Re: [arm-allstar] send courtesy beep to echolink users
>
> Doug,
> I did list the full path and file name in the message.
