For $25 it looks like it's worth it to brighten up the display.
Lots of lines going through the display but it may make it easier to
read.<br>

John. I may try this mod later. My V7 is getting old and
it has the known problem with the display. It's getting
very hard to read but it's ok if you aren't going to
change the frequency. So it won't matter if I break it.<br>

It looks like Kenwood fixed this on the V71.<br>
