The simplest method I have found is pushover.net. All you need is a curl command to send a push notification with whatever text you want to your phone.

Does anyone have any information on how to send an sms message to my phone
on a node connection. I have seen the sms how to and am in the process of
installing that.  Just need a script that will send a message on connect
with, if possible, the node number that connected.
