Patrick, ARRL News is available from Allstar node 516229. It will pause
transmission between segments. Although multiple Allstar nodes can connect
simultaneously to listen, the first node to connect starts the playback.
However, I don't think I've ever logged two or more nodes connected at the
same time. So I haven't seen the need to solve that limitation on Allstar
yet. On IRLP or EchoLink, each connection gets its own audio stream.
Alternatively, Allstar nodes could connect via EchoLink, or TLB, if
configured to use those modes. See arrlnews.rfnet.link for more info.
ARNewsline does not provide an easy way to automatically pause
transmissions between segments. All it would take is 2 to 4 seconds of
silence between segments. Yes, one can force breaks, which may occur in the
middle of a sentence, and rewind to start again. I prefer to break and
pause between logical segments for easier listening. So I have not
duplicated this service for ARNewsline.
Good luck!
