Hi folks.

I apologize in advance for asking what is a very common question here.

What points would you include in a non-technical presentation about Allstar?

I'll list some below. Feel free to add or change anything, or email me
directly so as not to annoy the rest of the group.

I am helping plan a presentation/sales pitch about Allstar for my local club
in January. Due to reluctance and fear of the new on the part of some
members, we are planning to keep this as non-technical as possible. Also, we
have a simplex node operating currently, with the hope that once people
become comfortable with Allstar and enthusiastic about what it can offer the
club, we can move the node to one of our analog repeaters.

Possible Points:

Summary:

Allstar is a flexible, high-quality, stable, and inexpensive way to link
individuals, repeaters, and larger networks together.

Allstar is more flexible and has higher quality audio than both Echolink and
IRLP, but includes Echolink for those who already have it.

Unlike other voice modes, Allstar works with the analog FM equipment you
already have.

Besides personal nodes or RF through our repeater, people can connect back
to us using any of the following:

Any other Allstar-connected repeater anywhere, such as when away on
vacation.

iPhone or iPad: Repeaterphone app

Android phone or tablet: DV Switch Mobile app

Windows PC: IAXRPT

Apple Macintosh: Transceive app

If Allstar is available through our repeater(s), we decide exactly when and
how to connect to anything else, and if people can connect to us.

Personal nodes are inexpensive and fun to build.

We have complete control of our node and what it does or does not do, if we
experience QRM or other problems. DTMF codes can all be changed, although we
hope this will never be necessary.

I would add with the capability of integrating DVSwitch, you can have most
voice digital modes accessible on an analog radio. That's huge for me.

Looks nice. I noticed you have a DMR/YSF bridge. Do you run them on the
same computer? I ran a DMR bridge at one time but never tried running both
DMR and YSF at the same time.

Thanks!  I have everything running on a Raspberry Pi 3 except the license
search which I installed on a different Pi.
And I run two radio nodes on the same Pi. You can see my setup on QRZ.
