[arm-allstar] RPi Zero 2 W wireless slow

Larry,

I've got 2 RPiZ2W boards setup as "radioless" test nodes. I don't see this
issue with either of them. They're both currently +/- 20 feet from the
AP, which is a Ubiquiti LocoM2.

Yes, the RPiZ2W uses a different WiFi chipset and drivers from all other
RRi hardware.

It's not uncommon for the first ping to take a significantly longer---
perhaps as long as 1/10 second or so. This situation would occur if the
MAC address of the RPiZ2W isn't already cached on the system where the
ping originates and the originating system must send (and receive) ARP
requests to learn the MAC address.....However, the very long ping times
you listed aren't normal, of course.

Have you tried power cycling the AP? How about moving the RPiZ2W into a
different spot? After the initial "lag," do the ping times reliably
stabilize at a shorter time (like about 5mS)?? Try a ping -c 1000, for
example.

that Zero 2 wifi has a lag when it is first starts communicating.

This lag apparently is causing a Congest error when trying to connect
with other Hamvoip nodes.

I don't see this lag with any other full sized RPi3 units. Is anyone
else seeing this lag?

The PI Zero 2 W card was set up on a RPi3 unit as I didn't have a mini
HDMI adapter to connect a monitor.

Is there a difference in WIFI drivers that get installed on the
different platforms?

Any advice ?

Difference in Ping times. Both wireless RPi  units sit 5 foot away from
the wireless router and away from each other
